• Proliferative mutation (tyrosine kinase)

Bone Marrow

• Hypercellular

• Full of blasts >20%(no maturation)

Age

• Increases with age

• Predominately disease of elderly

CBC

• Leukocytosis

• Anemia

• Thrombocytopenia

• Pancytopenia

• Can have low, normal, or elevated WBC!!!
